I care because typically EVs can't go the distances they're rated to go, especially at highway speeds. Don't forget - if you are out of battery - you cannot run to the next gas station for 10kW of energy -) You need to overcome 200mi without charging, then frankly I would avoid any risk and make a first smooth drive - do not go over 55mi/h - if the 200mi is only freeway.Ībout the hidden reserve - never calculate with this - because this might be already used by other things such as heating/Multimedia. There was a voting in this channel I think one week ago - where the question was - what mode you are driving - and the majority is using B (even on freeway) - as it appears the most efficiant regarding range and also allowing you to come close to "one pedal driving"įurther, you can look into the accurate kW/h consumption during the drive - this gives you also the most accurate possibility to calculate - how far you will come - if you continue with your current driving style - or if you should step off from gas and reduce speed to gain more range.įor your initial ride - I wouldn't belong to any program. If you drive on highways with not more then 90km/h (56mi/h) - eventually even over mountains (up and down) and in B Mode (with recuperation - not in D mode), then you can even reach 1/0,75 - means for one real mile you are losing only 0,75 miles of battery range. Driving on freeway with such speed, you need to calculate around 1/2 - means for one real mile, you are losing 2 miles of battery range. This because it is taking in consideration, that I was driving 50% in City or on Highway - with efficiant recuperation (B Mode driving) and 50% Freeway with standard speed between 130-140km/h (81-87 mi/h).
Now after 3 months and 5k km (3k1 mi) even if fully charged, it "only" shows 412km (257mi). On the begining, when I picked up my ID4 - the range was shown with 512km (320mi). It takes in consideration, what you are driving (for example in Eco, Comfort or Sport mode) and what type of streets you are driving. I believe, the best calculator of the range is the car itself - because it is auto adapting the displayed range to your driving stile.
Hi, first of all, I can just give you a heads up on European verison of ID4 Pro (RWD) with the 77kW battery.
